Standing on the side of the road, I watched semi trucks drive by. “If I step out in front of one,” I thought, “I’m pretty sure that would kill me quickly. It would be an easy death, and then I wouldn’t have to deal with these problems anymore.”

I was seventeen years old, and this was one of the lowest points of my life. I felt hopeless— like I was worth nothing and had no power to make things get better. I hated myself, hated my life, and felt like everyone around me hated me too.

No matter how amazing your life is, I believe you can relate to my seventeen-year-old self in that moment. You might be in your “lowest point of life” right now. Perhaps you are experiencing:

  • Crippling depression and/or anxiety
  • The unexpected loss of a job
  • The loss of a loved one
  • A hard breakup
  • Being stuck in a job that you aren’t passionate about
  • Financial handicap
  • A physical handicap
  • Family problems
  • Uncertainty about the future
  • Another person taking advantage of or controlling you
  • A deep, dark fear that you just can’t shake
  • Doubt in yourself and your abilities
  • A general sense of meaninglessness

Each of these things is something I’ve experienced. These were some of the most horrible experiences of my life. At the same time, these experiences shaped me into who I am today. My heart goes out to you, and I wish I could make things better. But the fact that you are reading this book means that something is stirring in your heart: hope.

I believe there is hope of freedom. Freedom from the pain, fear, and meaninglessness is possible. If you’re facing depression, suicidal thoughts, or just a deep, unsettling angst, you’re not alone. If you want to live a life that is meaningful, I 100% believe that it is within your power to do so.

I’ll be honest with you—I’m not a counselor, therapist, or “life coach”. But I’ve spent the last five years of my life going to counselors, researching mental and physical health, working on becoming happy, finding my purpose, developing my relationships, and creating a life that I can enjoy living. I want to share the most important secrets I’ve discovered, concentrated into this eBook. I believe it will be helpful to you.
